Muscle Pain Treatment

Muscle pain can often be caused by overuse, trauma, stress, medications, rheumatic conditions, hormonal irregularities or infections. Excessive strain on the muscles, imbalance or poor posture can also cause this pain. Depending on the cause of the pain, treatment consists of rest, hot or cold compresses, massage and medication. Physical therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises can reduce muscle pain in the long term. Specialist assessment may be necessary when muscle pain is a recurring problem. Proper nutrition and the right exercises can also protect muscle health and prevent pain.

Myofascial Pain Syndrome Treatment

Myofascial pain syndrome is a condition that causes chronic pain in the muscles and connective tissues. Tender points called muscle knots (trigger points) are often the source of this pain. The cause can be repetitive movements, poor posture or muscle trauma. Treatment includes massage, physical therapy and injection therapy to relax the trigger points. Pain medication and stretching exercises are also useful for pain management. In the long term, exercises that increase muscle strength and flexibility prevent the pain from recurring.

Fibromyalgia Treatment

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease of the musculoskeletal system that causes widespread pain, fatigue and sleep disturbances. Although the exact cause is unknown, genetic factors, trauma and infections can be triggers. Treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach. Medication, injections, exercise programs and physical therapy are commonly used. Stress management, sleep regulation and psychological support are also an important part of treatment. In the treatment of fibromyalgia, early diagnosis and the right lifestyle changes play a major role in controlling symptoms.

Treatment of Pain of Unknown Cause

Pain of unknown origin is often caused by unidentified chronic conditions. This type of pain may originate from muscles, joints or the nervous system. The first step in the treatment process is a detailed examination to find the source of the pain. Physical therapy, painkillers, injection therapies and sometimes psychological support methods can be used in pain management. In this process, a multidisciplinary approach, i.e. a treatment plan managed by more than one specialist, is preferred. Pain can be controlled with regular follow-up and appropriate lifestyle changes.

Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain is persistent pain that lasts longer than 3 months and affects a person's quality of life. It can be linked to nervous system, musculoskeletal and psychological factors. Treatment includes medication, physical therapy, psychotherapy and lifestyle changes. Antidepressants and neuromodulators are commonly used in pain management. Exercise, relaxation techniques and invasive methods may also be used when necessary.
